Hookde on phonics

So, sometimes I just can’t tell if I am failing as a father or not. About a month ago I decided to remove my two younger girls door knob because all they seemed to be doing was locking themselves out and each other.


Nevertheless, last night I broke down and decided to give it another shot.


After reinstalling the door knob, not 3 minutes later, I hear “daddyyyy!!!!”


Apparently the middle kid locked my youngest out the room right after she got out of the shower. Well I can’t say I didn’t see that one coming. So, my youngest decides she’s gonna label the door on the inside so she knows where the lock is. At first she wanted to use a sharpie, no no no baby girl, use the label maker.


1. Never let a 2nd grader have a label maker unless you are willing to accept the outcome.

2. Never trust the Texas public school system.

3. Never trust a blonde TX girl with more sass than Texas has cattle.


But, low and behold she did her best and I honestly just didnt have the heart to tell her:
