Nothing in this life brings me more joy than my girls.

This was the first official year of my divorce and during the summer my kids are gone for a 30 consecutive day period. I didn’t know how that was going to to go since they are with me 90% of the time. At first I enjoyed the peace and quiet and I admit having them back this weekend I needed to adjust myself.

But, sitting on the couch with my little ones and hearing them laugh and just be themselves made that adjustment smooth. I love watching them sleep in and play with the dogs, taking them to the movie and hearing there goofiness, honestly just being around them sparked that joy inside me again.

Now, the time apart I do believe was a good thing. Everyone needs a break and time to refresh. I needed to recharge my batteries after a long rough year. Our relationship is not perfect by any means, yet we manage to team together to make it all work. We’ve all had a rough and long journey over theses last few years and we still are adapting to this new life of ours.

Nevertheless, I think we’re going to be ok...
