There was once was a young man who got lost at sea. He was traveling on a boat with others that might be. He was placed on a raft and left all alone. So, he drifted away till he found a new home.

The new home he found was an island far away. Where he learned to survive in a whole new way. He fished, he cooked, & he learned on his own. He did all these things, he did them all alone.

Drifters would sail by and at a distance would wave. But, each time they did he hid in his cave. They even got close enough to land on the shore. But, he would push them away before they could learn more.

He was covered in scars from his head to his feet. Because, he was the one they all loved to beat. The wounds ran deep and never fully healed. So, he treated them by keeping his precious heart sealed.

He kept it locked away in a treasure chest with no key. Hid on the island somewhere no one could see. It was safer in there and protected from thieves. The ones who would sail these treacherous seas.

There’s no treasure map and no way to find, the treasure locked away deep and confined. You can search all you want and ask him for clues. But, he buried it deep because it’s been broken and used.

The storm will rage on like a hurricane in his mind. The wind will rip through each branch and each vine. The rain pours down and the waves crash in. Across the whole island where it’s always just him.

He fights his battles alone all the time. It’s always like this, and he says he’s just fine. He can’t be rescued, no he can’t be saved. This is just how it is till the end of his days.

No smoke signals go up or SOS goes out. He doesn’t want help he’ll never scream and shout. He’ll die all alone on this island of his. Shut off from the world were he is greatly missed.

His heart is too fragile, his heart is too cold. He’d rather be alone till he’s grey and old. But, of course, none of this is true, he’s actually deep down feeling sad and blue.

Unable to share the feelings he locked up inside. That treasure chest he built then went to hide. Long ago it was hid and the key has since been lost. He can’t find it anywhere because he’s scared of what it may cost.

So, sail, sail away and rescue yourself, Leave this islander here to fend for himself. He’s survived here forever since he was young, and he will continue to fight his battles like a sad, sad song.

On his island for one, lost out at sea. Who is this island? well that island is me....
