Some things...

Most of my days are rough, I’m a single dad with three girls practically full time. Girls are mean man. Mine are strong willed and dish out as much as they take. We spend most days arguing, fighting, waiting, yelling, etc. They take forever to get ready, they roll their eyes, cross their arms, huff, puff, and sigh.
Today was a rather rough day, my youngest “the beast” was in full effect. Then after school my oldest, Ms. I can’t even, had her attitude turned to about a 13. Its a lot of back and forth and second guessing myself and if I can do this job.
But, the moral of the story is this - Some things are worth all the pain. I ended my evening with a movie on the couch and some snuggles from my baby girl. An “I love you daddy“ and some kisses on the cheek, a big ole bowl of ice cream, and a five minute explaination from her on why strawberry Ice cream is actually healthy. Don’t bother arguing with this kid either because some things you just can’t win.
Getting to drop off my middle Faith, so she could make a friend feel better and watching her cry her heart out because her close friend is moving away today. Some things can’t be explained, the heart strings that tear and make me sad to watch my little girl’s heart break. She has a heart of gold I swear.
Some things are worth the sacrifice and the pain. Some things are worth knowing I may be on my own for quite some time, but that is far less important to me than these girls. Some things will never change and my kids will be who they always have, I’m ok with that. Some things are not worth losing them, because I want them to be loved and protected. Some things are worth the sacrifice.
And some things just flat out make my day better, like hugs and kisses, couch time, a little blonde, and a hamster.
